Meet the Band!

Jess

Known on stage as Jesstroyer, she channels raw energy and unfiltered passion every time she grabs the mic. A lifelong music lover and concert junkie, Jess didn’t start singing until later in life and once she did, there was no turning back.

With a love for bands like Nine Inch Nails, Sublime, Fall Out Boy, and Metallica, Jess brings an electric mix of influences to the band’s sound. Her favorite songs to rip into? Think "Sabotage," "Man in the Box," "Enter Sandman," and anything AD/DC — because subtlety isn’t really her thing.

What drives her? The rush of live shows, the energy of the crowd, and the bond with her bandmates. Jess goes hard, lives loud, and makes sure the fun never hits the brakes.

CHAD

Chad brings a rock-solid rhythm foundation to Moonhole. Shaped by a delightfully unpredictable musical upbringing, his first cassette was Michael Jackson's Thriller, followed quickly by The Cars, ZZ Top, and then Neil Diamond!  It wasn't long until he discovered the glorious chaos of the ‘80s hair-metal scene.

In the mid ’90s, Chad co-founded a punk'ish rock band that proudly earned tens of fans (yes, tens). In the early 2000s, he jumped into the cover-band world for a little while before taking a long break from the stage...though he never fully put the guitar back in the closet. The muscle memory and musical passion never left.

Now he’s back, holding down the grooves that give Moonhole part of its backbone. Chad is all about feel, groove, and playing what each song needs, bringing tight rhythm, big hooks, and a lifetime of influences to every performance.

Carl

Carl Brunke brings more than three decades of experience from the Chicago music scene, known for his high-energy playing and authentic rock presence. Inspired early by The Monkees and later by Van Halen’s “Unchained,” he picked up the guitar at 14 and was performing live across Chicago by 18. His foundation is rooted in original music, starting with The Earls and shaped by influences like Descendents and Dag Nasty. Over the years, he has played in bands including The Loved Ones, Medium, Tick, HOPEKILLSFEAR, The Mayfires, and Dead in Chicago. Carl’s style is built on feel, energy, and emotional honesty, with a focus on creating something real rather than imitating others. While Edward Van Halen remains a key influence, it’s the spirit of creativity and fearlessness that drives his approach. In the past decade, he has expanded into the cover and tribute scene, performing in Beatles and Ozzy tributes as well as bands like Ozzy Asylum Chicago and Wicked Rodeo. After more than 30 years on stage, Carl still plays with purpose, passion, and a commitment to making every note count.

CYN

Cyn’s creative journey has been as diverse as it has been joyful. After establishing a successful career as an illustrator, she later discovered a deep connection to the bass guitar—an unexpected path that ultimately brought her back to the heart of her artistic expression. Her background in dance infuses her playing with natural rhythm and fluidity, giving her music a dynamic sense of movement that continues to grow and evolve.

Michele

Known to the band as Slammer, Michele brings heart, versatility, and a fearless spirit to Moonhole’s sound. While she’s most often behind the keys, her musical instincts and dedication make her a true secret weapon in the lineup.

Her love for music started young — sparked by the playful notes of “Music Box Dancer,” the first song she ever fell in love with. That passion led to years of classical training, a deep appreciation for live music, and a strong connection to the energy of the stage. Inspired by artists like Genesis and Phil Collins, she adds mood, melody, and texture to every performance.

With two years in Moonhole, Michele has proven herself an exceptional team player — always supportive, adaptable, and ready to lift the whole band’s sound to the next level.
